End of the Semester
Well, here I am, sitting in front of the magic box. I have decided to document the process of moving to Ireland to take up an 18 month fellowship.
Right now entries will probably be rambling b/c I have sooooooo much going on:
I give a final on Wednesday
I am teaching yoga
I am selling my house (which by the way involves all manner of side threads)
I just got married
I am sellin off all of my stuff (excluding the wife)
We will be packing up all the stuff we want to keep and putting it in her parent's basement (nice of them)
I am graduating on Saturday with a PhD in mechanical engineering
I am trying to complete a couple of publications before I go
I am trying to clean out my office what a mess
I am trying to figure out what I am going to take with me to Ireland-- you get 2 70lb suitcases (checked) and 1 24lb carry-on--- this is a particularly tough chore as an American because we have so much stuff (it may get even harder if airlines start counting Americans weight and reducing your luggage allowance ;-)
Anyway there are other things going on, but they will have to wait their turn for inclusion in this blog.
Basically the purpose of this blog is to document our journey from the US to Ireland and to document our adventures once we get there.
Well that's all for now--- more to come as we pick up enough momentum to sling us out of our current rut!
